1986 Ford F-250, SuperCab full size bed. 460, ZF5, NP208, Sterling 10.25" rear, Dana 60 front, 1.75" primary into 3" collector long tube headers, new 2.5" dual side pipe exhaust, Holley 600 CFM vacuum secondary, dual gas tanks (new front tank), 750W power inverter, Alpine head unit, 200W stereo amp powering 6.5" Alpine Type R speakers. I swapped the Dana 50 TTB independant front for a solid Dana 60 from an '87 F-350, so the truck is essentially an F350 now. I rebuilt the Dana 60 before swapping that in. Truck also has new power steering pump and new tie rods/drag link, as well as new solid u-joints in all positions.
When I did the 460 I installed mechanical oil pressure, temp, and voltage gauges in the dash. Clean install on left side of factory instrument cluster with clear visibility while driving. Also have a tach installed on right side of cluster.
The 460 is new, around 4000 miles since rebuild.
D9TE block bored .030 over
KB137 flat tops
D3VE style heads with mild exhaust port work (shape smog bump into vane, radiused short turn, mild bowl cleanup and deepen/smooth trenches on either side of valve guide)
Lunati 61602 cam (262/268 .540/.552)
Edelbrock Performer intake
Melling M84D oil pump
Edelbrock 8866 high flow aluminum water pump
Remote oil filter
According to Desktop Dyno this is around 400 HP / 550 ft./lbs. which fits with my experience. Engine requires 91+ octane and pulls like a bat outta hell from 3000+ RPM.
Cab has minor rust under extended cab portion. Cab corners themselves are solid. I have the panels to repair rust. Just need welded in and paint. Interior is pretty decent, minor tear on drivers side of bench, otherwise good.
Also recently got the Ford TSB kit for firewall flex/crack repair. Clutch master cylinder was flexing the firewall and not fully releasing, firewall was cracked around one of the master cylinder bolts. Kit is a thick steel plate that bolts around the clutch master cylinder and ties into the tunnel to reinforce the area. Clutch feels better than ever now.
Truck is located in Westmont, 08108, 5 minutes from Cherry Hill mall. Price is $8000.
Will also consider full/partial trades for '79 and earlier Ford 4x4 pickup, preferably Supercab. Preferably manual transmission and decent body. Call Cory at 856-278-4315.
Truck now has a 4" suspension lift and 35x12.5 BFG All Terrain on aluminum wheels (American Racing?). I used to run 38.5x15 Ground Hawgs but got rid of them when I stopped wheelin'.
Also MileMarker hubs in the front. New hardware/springs/etc. and shoes on rear brakes.
4" lift springs in front
Skyjacker extended shocks front
Sky Manufacturing shackles in rear
Rancho extended shocks rear
Dual steering stabilizer
Drop track bar and pitman arm
Not in a hurry to sell the truck but wouldn't mind getting rid of it so I can get a '79 or older Supercab 4x4 which is what I really want. This truck is reliable and is my daily driver, drive it anywhere. Most of the miles on the truck are from my trip to Maine this summer... About 1200 miles in a week, the rest are mostly my 1.5 mile commute to work and pulling my boat a few miles to the ramp some weekends. My buddies all sold their trucks so I have no one to go trail riding with anymore.
Don't mind keeping the truck but it's a shame I did all the work lift, big block, solid axle and the most excitement it sees is pulling the boat and occasionally putting rice-burners in their place. Dana 60 has only had the hubs locked a couple times, twice for the hell of it bringing my dirt bike to the pit, a couple times at the boat ramp, and once when I got up super early last winter to get to work before the plows hit the road.
Also have receipts for most things I've put into it. If you were to buy a truck and do everything I've done to it you'd spend more than $8000 unless you got some killer deals. Stay tuned, in the next month or so I will likely be getting rust repair and paint. If it's not selling as I expect it won't, I want to get the rust fixed before winter so it doesn't get any worse.
